Improving the experience...

After walking through the site, submitting a home listing and then going back to see what it looks like, my wife and I have come up with a few observations and suggestions that could improve the experience.

First of all, we would like to see the listing on the landing page rotate and not just show the latest home listing.  Second, we are not big fans of the peach colored background.  If anyone else feels the same, can we find a color that has a bit more pizzazz?  Third, can we do something about eliminating the crashes?  As I walked through the site, it crashed on me four times yesterday and again this morning.  I know we are still in beta and the site was created in phenominal time, but moving through the site is still a bit clunky and obviously not ready for prime time yet.

As we went back to review the home we submitted, we were a bit disappointed and frustrated with the overall experience.  When we pre-selected the home, we were expecting to see it pop up and fill out the page with no other clutter, but the latest home that was submitted and is living on the landing page popped back up and filled the page.  We had to scroll down to see the home we selected and to our chagrine, the picture of the home was really small and old people like us could hardly see it without our reading glasses on and then we had to lean forward to try to get a good look at the home we were really interested in.  Now, if we wanted to see that other home on the landing page...no problemo...but we didn't !  Can we improve this experience by finding a way to have the pre-selected home pop up and fill out the page without any other distractions, so that the interested viewer can focus on the house they are really interested in?  I don't know about you guys, but my wife and I want to look at a prospective home and imagine how we would look in it.  We need to do better on this one.  If nothing else, we need to at least increase the size of the pictures of the selected home.
